At a time when the state makes it difficult for developers to buy land for new construction projects, revitalization and modernization of old facilities is not only a trend or a way to improve the image of Polish city centres. It is also an investment idea. Revitalization projects also help to warm up the developer's image. Such and similar conclusions were reached by the participants of the last meeting as part of the "Second Life of Buildings" series, which took place on November 22 at the Monopol hotel in Katowice.

“Until recently, revitalization was a minor trend among builders. Developers, especially housing developers, were used to buying land and building new premises on it. Recent years and changes in the law, which unfortunately hinder the acquisition of new land, made some investors switch to revitalization, ”admitted Rafał Kus, deputy general director of the Polish Association of Developers.

Małgorzata Stochmal, Orange Real Estate project manager, argued that the fate of the properties sold shows that, after modernization, they function perfectly as schools, clinics, offices or residential buildings. “These are mainly old telephone exchanges. The fact that they once housed telecommunications devices did not prevent their effective transformation, ”she emphasized.

The Orange Real Estate meeting was organized by the Rzeczpospolita daily.

The meeting was attended, among others, by a representative of the Polish Association of Developers, a representative of the Buildings and Roads Department from the Katowice City Hall, representatives of DL INVEST GROUP and Cresa Polska.
